More About Dr. Lakhanpal

He began treating patients with venous insufficiency in 2006. Soon after, he felt the need to focus his team’s energy on developing a practice that would specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of venous insufficiency, resulting in the founding of Center for Vein Restoration. The practice has enjoyed rapid and vibrant growth and now serves patients in Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Dr. Lakhanpal did his initial medical training in India, from the medical college Amritsar and the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh. Subsequently he completed a General Surgery Residency from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, then his Cardiovascular Surgery Fellowship from the University of Minnesota at Minneapolis. Dr. Lakhanpal has since practiced cardiovascular surgery in the greater Washington area.

A cardiovascular surgeon who is Board Certified in General Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, and Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Lakhanpal has served as Director of Cardiac Surgery at Prince George’s Hospital and is affiliated with Washington Adventist Hospital, Washington Hospital Center, Doctor’s Hospital and Prince George’s Hospital.

“We believe that there’s a great opportunity in the community for local, specialized medicine to complement the care people traditionally receive in larger institutions and we are committed to modernizing healthcare to be a more efficient and accessible service to patients. Thanks to our physician-led business model, which emphasizes collaboration, camaraderie and support, we’re proud to serve more patients than ever.”

Dr. Lakhanpal describes his personal work in the field of venous insufficiency and areas where he has a particular focus:

“The venous system is one continuous system. It takes blood from the toes to the head and just does not stop at the groin. Hence, I feel that my specialization in cardiovascular surgery helps CVR look at venous disease in its entirety.”
