Meet Dr. Ives
Dr. Don Ives, MD, DABVLM, RPVI, RVT, has clinics at vein centers in Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska. As a specialist in venous insufficiency, phlebology, vascular surgery, spider veins, and varicose veins, Dr. Ives offers patients high-quality care. Dr. Ives is also a member of the Alaska Academy of Family Practice, the American Academy of Family Practice, and the American Venous and Lymphatic Society.
A graduate of Westmont College, Dr. Ives attended medical school at the University of North Carolina - School of Medicine. While there, he received the UNC - School of Medicine Dameron Award due to his commitment to practicing primary care in underserved areas. After his graduation from UNC - School of Medicine, Dr. Ives worked at Boise Family Practice Medical Center, where he completed an internship, residency, and fellowship.
Serving the Alaskan community since 1993, Dr. Ives has worked at the Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center, been a physician sponsor for Warbelow’s Air Medevac Service, and served as the medical director of the Tanana Valley Clinic Community Health Aide Training Program.
In 2007, Dr. Ives established the Laser Vein Center of Alaska after realizing how important vein health was to patients' overall well-being. He improved many patients’ health and quality of life while working at Laser Vein Center of Alaska and, in 2019, partnered with the Center for Vein Restoration to continue helping those with vein disease.
