Center for Vein Restoration’s Washington, D.C. vein center is situated inside of the former Providence Hospital, which is now home to professional offices. Our vein clinic is an approximate 15-minute drive from downtown Washington D.C. We offer cutting-edge, outpatient, minimally invasive procedures at this clinic location that take an hour or less to complete and allow patients to resume normal activity immediately, with no downtime and few restrictions. Vein health is restored almost immediately!

Washington, DC, is a compact city on the Potomac River, bordering the states of Maryland and Virginia. There are endless things to do and see when visiting our vein clinic! The Lincoln Memorial is overseen by the US National Park Services and id dedicated to the memory of the 16^th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. The National Mall is home to more than 100 unique and iconic monuments and memorials, also managed by the US National Park Services.

If driving to our vein center, follow H Street NW toward 8th Street NW and keep to the left to stay on H Street NW. Turn right onto N. Capitol Street NW and then turn back on N. Capitol Street NE. Turn right onto Fort Drive NE (the road name changes to Taylor Street NE). Turn left onto 10th Street NE and then turn right onto Varnum Street NE. There is now FREE parking at this location.

Meet Dr. Starin

Lawrence Starin, MD, FACS, is a vascular surgeon who is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He graduated magna cum laude ("with great praise") from Brown University, where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He earned his medical degree from Columbia University, a private Ivy League research university in New York City. He completed a five-year residency in general surgery at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center of New York City, followed by a one-year fellowship in the department of Surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Starin has been honored by his peers by receiving “Top Doc” recognition in the Washingtonian and CheckBook magazines.

Symptoms of vein problems

When the tiny valves in your leg veins fail to circulate blood back to the heart, it can be a sign of venous disease. The result can be the following:

• Leg pain

• Itching

• Swelling

• Cramping

• Varicose veins

• Spider veins

• Feelings of heaviness

• Skin discoloration

• Ulcers

These symptoms are often the result of venous insufficiency and are unlikely to heal on their own. This common vein condition is progressive and will likely worsen without treatment.

Vein treatment options

Vein care providers at vein treatment clinics use the most advanced minimally invasive treatments available today. CVR’s modern outpatient treatment plans are far superior to the older vein-stripping methods used in the past.

Treatments include VenaSeal, a proprietary medical adhesive that safely closes off varicose veins, and ClariVein, a two-in-one approach that uses an ablation device to inject a sclerosing agent that closes the vein with a tiny rotating wire tip, which destroys the diseased vein.

Vein treatments take approximately an hour or less to complete, and patients can return to their normal routine immediately with few restrictions.
