What is a “Patient Portal” and Why Do I Need Access to It?

A “Patient Portal” is merely a secure online area where patients can access their healthcare records and information 24-hours a day.
The advent of “Patient Portals” resulted from the U.S. Government actively taking measures to ensure all Americans have easy, yet secure, access to their health information in an effort to:
  • Facilitate better coordination between healthcare providers
  • Promote improved patient safety
  • Empower patients to take a more active, educated role in their health
In compliance with the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act of 2009 (Learn More) and its provisions regarding “Meaningful Use,” Center for Vein Restoration will provide you, via email following your first visit, a temporary username and password that will grant you unlimited online access to our Patient Portal, which offers:
  • Secure communication with your healthcare provider
  • Access to your personal Center for Vein Restoration health records
  • Access to view your scheduled appointments
This innovation in the secure dissemination of healthcare information benefits you in the following ways:
  • Allowing for the comprehensive management of health information and helping patients maintain and share their records securely with their healthcare providers
  • Improving healthcare quality, preventing medical errors, and reducing costs through decreased paperwork and increased administrative efficiency
  • Giving healthcare providers ready access to complete patient information in a standard, electronic form to facilitate medical decisions
  • Improving early detection of disease outbreaks and chronic disease management
  • Empowering patients to take a more active, educated role in their health
Our Patient Portal is one of the many ways that Center for Vein Restoration continually strives to improve our quality of care to better assist our patients. Please be sure to contact us by emailing patientportal@centerforvein.com if you have any additional questions regarding our Portal.
