Sandy Springs, Camp Creek (Atlanta Offices)
Louis Prevosti, MD, FACS, started his college career at the University of Colorado, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in physics. Following his time there, he attended Albany Medical College in New York, where he was class president and received several awards. After earning his medical degree at Albany, Dr. Prevosti completed a general surgery residency at the New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center. After studying cardiovascular disorders, Dr. Prevosti moved to Atlanta to begin his private practice, in cardiovascular surgery. During his cardiovascular career, he has performed over 5,000 open heart operations at Piedmont Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. At Piedmont Hospital, he served as Section Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Medical Director of the CV Intensive Care Unit and Telemetry Unit, and Chairman of the Patient Care Quality Improvement Committee.
Since 2010, Dr. Prevosti has dedicated himself full time to the treatment of venous disorders, including the outpatient treatment of varicose veins, spider veins (telangiectasia), swollen legs, lymphedema, chronic venous insufficiency, venous reflux disease, pelvic congestion syndrome, vaginal varicies, and facial veins.
Camp Creek, Lawrenceville
Serving both Center for Vein Restoration’s Camp Creek and Lawrenceville offices is James Fonger, MD, FRCS. He completed both his Pre-Med and Medical School at the University of Manitoba. Following his studies, Dr. Fonger did a general surgery residency at the University of Toronto, and a Fellowship in Artificial Heart research in San Francisco. Finally, he trained at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgery. He has held positions on the cardiovascular surgical faculty at Boston University, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, and he was Chief of Cardiac Surgery of Washington Adventist Hospital in DC.
Throughout his career, Dr. Fonger has worked with new therapies and technologies that advance cardiac care and patient safety. He has performed several thousand cardiac surgical procedures and lectured internationally on his research conducted at Boston University and Johns Hopkins. Dr. Fonger is a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery. He is a founder and past president of the International Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery and the 21st Century Cardiothoracic Surgical Society.
