Ashley Baquero

MD, FACS, DABVLM

Dr. Ashley Baquero is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine with more than four decades of experience in complex vascular, transplant, and vein care. His extensive background in surgical medicine gives him a uniquely comprehensive understanding of how circulation and vessel health influence a patient’s overall well-being.

Dr. Baquero’s passion for vein care grew from his years as a transplant and vascular surgeon, where he witnessed firsthand how blood flow affects organ function, mobility, and quality of life. This perspective shapes his patient-centered approach today:

“Venous disease is not a cosmetic problem. When veins do not work properly, people lose comfort, confidence, and the freedom to move the way they want. My goal is always to restore circulation using the least invasive, most effective methods available.”

More About Dr. Baquero

Dr. Baquero earned his medical degree with honors from the University Autonomous of Santo Domingo before completing his surgical residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He continued his training through a transplant surgery fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia (VCU), later becoming a national and international leader in transplant medicine, ethics, and vascular health. After decades of service as a transplant surgeon, educator, and global advocate for ethical transplantation, he transitioned his practice to focus exclusively on minimally invasive treatment for vein disorders.

Before joining Center for Vein Restoration, Dr. Baquero practiced transplant and vascular surgery across the United States and abroad, ultimately performing the first living donor kidney transplant in the Dominican Republic and establishing long-standing charitable initiatives to improve access to care. His global work in organ donation and transplant ethics includes leadership roles that have shaped policy across Latin America and earned recognition from organizations twice nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

At CVR, Dr. Baquero combines decades of surgical mastery with the precision of modern, image-guided vein treatments. He is known for his meticulous technique, calm bedside manner, and deep commitment to helping patients understand their vein health and feel confident in their treatment decisions.

“When a patient trusts me with their care, they are trusting me with their quality of life. I never take that for granted. My goal is to give every patient the comfort, mobility, and peace of mind they deserve.”
