“If there’s one thing I want my patients and referring physicians to know about me, it’s this: I approach every case with both heart and precision. My goal is always to deliver care that is not only effective, but also deeply compassionate.” –Dr. Omonuwa Adah
Before becoming a doctor, Dr. Adah spent nearly a decade serving patients as a registered nurse in the neuroscience intensive care unit at The University of Mississippi Medical Center. There, he developed a strong foundation in critical care medicine and witnessed firsthand how timely, attentive care can change lives. His time at the bedside taught him how to listen closely, explain complex health issues clearly, and advocate for every patient with purpose and empathy.
That experience lit a spark in Dr. Adah. Encouraged by colleagues and driven by his desire to make a greater impact, he transitioned from nursing to medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he quickly distinguished himself academically, earning honors for top performance in biochemistry and scoring above the 95th percentile in national chemistry board exams.
Following medical school, Dr. Adah completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Saint Louis University Hospital, where he honed his ability to diagnose and manage a wide range of complex medical conditions. Throughout his training, one area remained at the center of his clinical curiosity: cardiovascular health, particularly venous and arterial disease.
“Even in medical school, I was fascinated by the cardiovascular system,” Dr. Adah recalls. “Vein care allows me to blend my passion for internal medicine with hands-on procedures that provide visible, measurable improvements in patients’ health and quality of life.” –Dr. Omonuwa Adah
Eager to build on this interest, Dr. Adah pursued a fellowship in venous and lymphatic medicine at Center for Vein Restoration, rotating with leading experts in vein care, including Dr. Peter Pappas, Dr. John Chuback, and others.
Over the course of a year, Dr. Adah has performed or assisted in more than 2,400 advanced, minimally invasive outpatient vein procedures, including:
“It was one of the most positive experiences of my career. Each rotation sharpened my technique and deepened my knowledge. But more importantly, it reminded me how rewarding it is to be part of a patient’s healing journey.” – Dr. Omonuwa Ada
Dr. Adah received offers from vein centers across the country but ultimately chose to stay with CVR. Why? For him, it came down to one thing: mission.
“After attending CVR’s Vision Conference and learning more about the leadership of Dr. Lakhanpal, Founder, President, and CEO of Center for Vein Restoration, I knew this was a place where I could continue to grow,” he says. “CVR’s culture is centered on clinical excellence, innovation, and compassion, everything I was looking for in a long-term home.” – Dr. Omonuwa Adah
Dr. Adah wants the Mid-Atlantic region community to know that vein disease develops gradually and often goes unnoticed. Many people dismiss symptoms of vein disease, such as leg heaviness, fatigue, swelling, cramps, or skin changes, as normal signs of aging. But untreated vein disease can worsen over time, leading to discomfort, skin damage, or even open leg ulcers.
“If you’re thinking about your legs at the end of every workday because of discomfort—that’s not normal,” he explains. “When treated early, vein disease is very manageable. You don’t have to live with leg pain or swelling.” – Dr. Omonuwa Adah
Through patient education, diagnostic ultrasound, and minimally invasive treatments, Dr. Adah helps patients understand their condition, explore their options, and take control of their vascular health.
Dr. Adah’s approach to patient care can be summed up in three words: listen, treat, follow through.
“My father was a professor of physical therapy, and he taught me to treat every person with equal care and dignity,” says Dr. Adah. “That’s how I practice medicine today.”
He takes the time to understand each patient’s symptoms, lifestyle, and concerns—and uses that insight to create a personalized treatment plan aimed at long-term relief. Whether it’s the first consultation or the final follow-up, Dr. Adah is committed to walking with his patients every step of the way.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Adah has participated in numerous research projects, including investigations into obesity-related metabolic dysfunction and muscle contraction in individuals with type 2 diabetes. He has delivered oral presentations at the University of Mississippi and national conferences such as The Obesity Society’s annual meeting. He also earned first place for a poster presentation at the Mississippi Academy of Sciences.
This scientific curiosity drives his commitment to staying on the leading edge of vein care. He continues to study the latest techniques and tools to ensure his patients receive the best care possible.
When he’s not in the clinic, Dr. Adah stays active through one of his first loves—soccer. A former standout college player and Mississippi High School Player of the Year, he continues to enjoy playing, coaching, and watching the game. He also enjoys running, working out at the gym, and spending time outdoors.
We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Omonuwa Adah to CVR and to the Hamilton community. With his strong clinical background, technical skill, and patient-first mindset, he is already making a difference for those seeking relief from vein disease.
