JULY 6, 2020: Center for Vein Restoration (CVR) is proud to announce the opening of its flagship location in Massachusetts in the city of Framingham, a suburb of Boston. The location marks the 19th state to currently have a CVR location, and the furthest east facility of the bi-coastal organization. The office, which overlooks Sucker Pond, is led by Dr. Pamela Kim, one of the newer physicians to join the company. Dr. Kim has dedicated her education and research efforts to the study of vascular surgery and phlebology, making her the perfect fit for the national practice exclusively focused on veins and venous disorders.
Pamela Kim, MD, RPVI is a board-certified Vascular Surgeon with additional certification in General Surgery and Vascular Interpretation. Throughout her education and career, she has focused exclusively on veins and minimally invasive procedures, completing Fellowships in Phlebology and Vascular Surgery. She is a member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society, American Venous Forum and Society for Vascular Surgery. Over the course of her career, she has been widely published in well-known, peer-reviewed journals such as The Journal of Vascular Access, Phlebology, and the Journal of Vascular Surgery. She is also active in educating her peers, presenting oral and poster presentations at major meetings and conferences.
“It is an exciting time to join the company,” remarked Dr. Kim. “While many specialty practices are struggling to adapt in the post-COVID environment, CVR is growing.”
“I am truly honored to represent Center for Vein Restoration in the state of Massachusetts, and excited to bring a clinical eye to vein care in this area,” she concluded. There are few vein practices in the area, and many of them are focused on cosmetic procedures. CVR prides itself on providing clean, safe, affordable vein care that is medically indicated.
Dr. Sanjiv Lakhanpal, Founder and CEO; Dr. Khanh Q. Nguyen, Chief Medical Officer; and Ken Abod, CFO at CVR are all pleased to welcome Dr. Kim to the company. “When I started CVR in 2007, my vision for the company was to offer comprehensive vein care throughout the United States, and opening a practice in Massachusetts brings us one step closer to that goal,” said Dr. Lakhanpal.
Of Dr. Kim, Dr. Lakhanpal said, “All of our physicians strive for complete patient care with a special focus on venous and lymphatic disorders. Dr. Kim’s background makes her an ideal cultural fit for our organization, and we look forward to her growth within the company.”
Dr. Kim’s accomplishments and accreditations also include:
Venous insufficiency, the cause of significant suffering due to the sequelae of venous hypertension, most commonly arises as achy, tired and heavy legs. It may or may not be associated with varicose veins, spider veins or skin changes including venous ulcerations and indiscriminately affects between 30–40 million Americans. Numerous factors including age, weight, prolonged sitting or standing, genetics or a history of DVT (blood clots) can increase the risk of developing this common and often underdiagnosed disorder. Treatment options have evolved to an array of minimally invasive procedures in an office setting.
Center for Vein Restoration (CVR) is the largest physician-led practice treating vein disease in the country. Having performed its first procedure in 2007 under President and CEO Dr. Sanjiv Lakhanpal, Center for Vein Restoration has since become nationally recognized as the clinical leader in treating chronic venous insufficiency. With 80 centers and growing, CVR has over 500 employees and conducts over 200,000 patient interactions annually.
