It's not often that a physician leaves behind such a legacy, and Center for Vein Restoration (CVR) would like to take this moment to acknowledge Dr. Markovitz's contributions.

As we honor a dedicated medical professional stepping into retirement, we also warmly welcome Alfred Hurley, MD, an accomplished interventional cardiologist who will continue the exceptional vein care for which Center for Vein Restoration's McLean, Virginia vein center is known.

Celebrating Dr. Lawrence Markovitz's Career

Dr. Lawrence Markovitz has been a cornerstone of venous care, both in his previous role as the president of Virginia Vein Care and as an integral part of CVR. Before transitioning to the venous and lymphatic medicine field, Dr. Markovitz had a distinguished cardiac and thoracic surgery career. Board-certified in thoracic surgery, Dr. Markovitz brought a wealth of experience to diagnosing and treating venous disorders, helping thousands of patients find relief from the discomfort and pain associated with venous diseases.

Over the years, Dr. Markovitz's passion for patient care and dedication to minimally invasive treatments have reshaped the lives of countless individuals. His gentle approach, combined with cutting-edge techniques, allowed patients to experience profound improvements in their quality of life without the need for general anesthesia or lengthy recovery times. His patients knew him not only for his expertise but also for his compassion, empathy, and deep commitment to improving the lives of those he treated.

"I've always believed that addressing venous and lymphatic conditions can have a lasting impact on a patient's overall well-being. Helping patients experience such positive outcomes through relatively simple, minimally invasive procedures has been incredibly rewarding." –Dr. Lawrence Markovitz

Dr. Markovitz's contributions extend beyond the vein clinic. He is a recognized author and has presented his work on various national and international platforms. His dedication to advancing the field is evident through his multiple publications, abstracts, and presentations, which have garnered him accolades such as recognition as a Top Doctor by Washingtonian Magazine and Washington Checkbook and inclusion among America's Top Surgeons.

As Dr. Markovitz transitions into retirement, he looks forward to spending more time with his family and pursuing personal interests. However, his professional legacy will continue to resonate at Center for Vein Restoration, especially among the many patients whose lives he has transformed.

On behalf of the entire CVR family, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Markovitz for his years of service. His leadership and tireless commitment to patient care have left an indelible mark, and he will be deeply missed by his colleagues and patients alike. We wish Dr. Markovitz a fulfilling and joyous retirement filled with family, travel, and new adventures.
