Dr. Caroly Guillen Aguirre is a board-certified internal medicine physician and fellowship-trained vein specialist dedicated to helping patients find lasting relief from venous and lymphatic disease. She brings the comprehensive, whole-person perspective to vein care, pairing careful listening and clear education with the procedural skill to treat the underlying problem.
“I treat every patient the same way I would want my own family, or myself, to be treated. Listening, compassion, and empathy matter.”
Dr. Guillen Aguirre developed her focus on vein care during her internal medicine residency in New York, where she repeatedly saw patients who had lived for years with varicose veins, aching, and swelling without knowing these symptoms could stem from venous insufficiency. The specialty allows her to pair the comprehensive approach of internal medicine with procedures that deliver relief patients feel directly.
She completed her fellowship with CVR, drawn to its shared commitment to compassionate care:
“During my training, I worked alongside physicians who were not only excellent clinicians but genuinely compassionate. I wanted to build my career in a place that shares those same values.”
The daughter of two deaf parents, she grew up communicating in sign language, an early lesson in meeting people where they are that still shapes how she connects with patients. Fluent in Spanish, she cares for Spanish-speaking patients in their native language.
Treat Every Patient Like Family: Dr. Guillen Aguirre cares for each patient the way she would want her own family, or herself, to be treated. Listening, empathy, and compassion are the foundation of every visit.
Educate First: Many patients arrive having never had their condition explained. She takes the time to answer every question so patients understand what is happening and why.
“So many patients tell me, ‘You are the first person who ever explained why this is happening to me.’”
Individualized Treatment: No two patients are the same. She builds a plan for each person, ranging from conservative measures to minimally invasive procedures, and performs them as comfortably and painlessly as possible.
A Partnership with Referring Physicians: Having been a referring physician herself, Dr. Guillen Aguirre understands both sides of the relationship.
