MD, FACS
Dr. Ralph Delius is a dual board-certified cardiac and thoracic surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons with more than three decades of surgical experience. He now dedicates his practice exclusively to venous disease, bringing a rare depth of clinical training to patient-centered, minimally invasive outpatient vein care.
“After decades of performing complex cardiac surgery through traditional incisions, I made a deliberate decision to focus on treatments that are modern, gentle, noninvasive, and performed entirely in an outpatient setting. My goal has always been the same: to provide every patient with the kind of care I would want for my own family.”

For patients living with varicose veins, leg swelling, lymphedema, or venous ulcers, Dr. Delius offers something uncommon: the perspective of a surgeon who has seen the full spectrum of vascular disease, contributed to its literature with more than 80 peer-reviewed publications, and chosen to focus on the treatments that offer the most meaningful improvement in daily life.
Family-Level Care: Dr. Delius measures every treatment decision against a single standard: would he recommend this for his own family? That question guides how he communicates with patients, explains options, and tailors care to each individual.
Modern & Minimally Invasive: Having spent decades performing open cardiac surgery, Dr. Delius brings a particular appreciation for the value of modern, minimally invasive techniques. Vein procedures performed in an outpatient setting with minimal recovery time, in his view, represent the right way to treat conditions that have historically been overtreated.
Experience in Service of Patients: More than 30 years of surgical experience is the foundation of the clinical judgment he applies to every consultation, ensuring that patients receive a level of expertise that goes well beyond the standard of outpatient vein care.
