Fort Worth Vein Center, now part of Center for Vein Restoration (CVR), is proud to serve patients at our Fort Worth vein clinic. The highly skilled physicians and staff members at CVR Fort Worth have decades of combined experience treating symptoms of vein conditions, including varicose veins, spider veins, leg pain, swelling, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and other disorders related to chronic venous insufficiency (vein disease).
CVR's caring and compassionate physicians are world-renowned vein specialists, trainers, authors, and lecturers on the latest techniques for diagnosing and treating vein disease. However, our commitment to patient care extends far beyond the credentials of our physicians. Our entire team works together to provide our patients with a level of comfort and understanding.
Barry Oswalt, MD, FACS, FAVLS, DABVLM, is a board-certified general surgeon and vein specialist with over 30 years of clinical experience. Known for his precision and compassionate care, Dr. Oswalt specializes in treating chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, spider veins, and associated leg symptoms.
After earning his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine, Dr. Oswalt completed his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He later transitioned from general surgery to vein care, bringing a surgeon’s expertise to minimally invasive procedures, including radiofrequency ablation, laser therapy, and ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy.
Certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, Dr. Oswalt is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society. His approach is guided by thorough diagnostics, including advanced ultrasound evaluation, to ensure every contributing vein is identified and treated.
Dr. Oswalt is especially passionate about uncovering overlooked causes of symptoms, including restless legs, cramping, and leg fatigue, which are often rooted in vein disease. He collaborates closely with referring physicians to deliver coordinated care and long-lasting results.
“When a patient walks into my office, my goal is simple: treat every vein that’s causing reflux, and make sure they walk out feeling better. If they don’t feel 100% better, I keep searching for answers.” – Dr. Barry Oswalt
Fort Worth, Texas, the seat of Tarrant County, is a place where old-school charm meets big-city fun. It’s got a little bit of everything, from history and art to great food and wide-open spaces, which makes it easy to enjoy a full day without going far.
One of the best places to start is the Fort Worth Stockyards, about eight miles from our vein clinic. This historic area feels like stepping back in time. You can watch real cowhands drive longhorn cattle down the street twice a day, walk on wooden sidewalks, shop for cowboy boots, or grab a bite at a local steakhouse. There’s even a rodeo and museums that show what life was like when Fort Worth was known as “Cowtown.”
If you’re more into museums and modern culture, head to the Cultural District, about five miles from our clinic. The Kimbell Art Museum is a small but impressive collection of big names, including Rembrandt and Picasso. Right next door is the Modern Art Museum, filled with bold and unusual artwork. Both museums are situated in peaceful settings with gardens, fountains, and quiet areas to relax.
Downtown Fort Worth is home to Sundance Square, a lively spot filled with restaurants, coffee shops, stores, and live music. Whether you’re grabbing lunch or catching a show, this area has a fun, laid-back vibe that’s perfect for an afternoon or night out.
Nearby, craft beer lovers will enjoy a visit to Martin House Brewing Company. This riverside brewery is known for trying bold flavors (think spicy pickles or sweet peaches) and often hosts food trucks and live music. It’s a great place to hang out with friends or try something new.
If you’re in the mood for nature, the Trinity Trails offer over 100 miles of paths that stretch through the city. You can walk, run, bike, or paddle along the river, spotting birds and enjoying the fresh air along the way. A bit farther out, but certainly worth the drive, is the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. About 18 miles from our vein clinic, it’s a quiet, wild spot where you might see bison, deer, or even an alligator.
Families will love the Fort Worth Zoo, which is less than five miles from our vein clinic and considered one of the country’s best. It’s home to hundreds of animals, fun exhibits, and shaded trails perfect for a full day of exploring.
Fort Worth brings together the best of Texas: Western roots, creative energy, friendly people, and wide-open skies. Whether you’re here for a short visit or simply enjoying your hometown, there’s always something worth seeing just around the corner.

Our board-certified vascular surgeons offer a wide range of innovative treatment options for leg pain, swelling, cramping, itching, varicose veins, spider veins, restless legs syndrome, ulcers, and other symptoms of vascular disease.
Venous disease occurs when the tiny valves in your leg veins fail to circulate blood back to the heart efficiently. This can result in:
These uncomfortable symptoms are often the result of venous insufficiency and are unlikely to heal on their own. This common vein condition is progressive and will worsen without treatment.
Vein care providers at vein treatment clinics use the most advanced minimally invasive treatments available today. CVR’s modern outpatient treatment plans are far superior to the older vein-stripping methods used in the past.
Treatments include VenaSeal, a proprietary medical adhesive that safely closes off varicose veins, and ClariVein, a two-in-one approach that uses an ablation device to inject a sclerosing agent that closes the vein with a tiny rotating wire tip, which destroys the diseased vein.
At Center for Vein Restoration, we offer a wide variety of other treatment options, including:
Vein treatments take approximately an hour or less to complete, and patients can return to their normal routine immediately with few restrictions. No staples or stitches are required because a simple band-aid covers the tiny incisions. Our in-office treatment requires only local anesthetics and recovery and symptom relief are fast, and there is little to no scarring.
