Its 67.5-acre grounds are now considered a defining feature of Framingham and attract hundreds of guests each day.

“Events Make History” at Village Hall on the Common, less than three miles from our vein clinic. The hall is managed by the Framingham History Center (FHC), a non-profit with a mission of preserving the best of Framingham’s timeless properties.

Continue your history lesson at the Edgell Memorial Library, the first free-standing public library in Framingham. About two and a half miles from our vein clinic, the Edgell Memorial Library is described as a “cultural pillar of the community.” It was built in 1872 and saved from demolition in the 1960s. It is now in use by the FHC as a cultural community center encompassing rotating exhibits, a museum shop, office space, and storage.

Meet Dr. Kim

Pamela Kim, MD, RPVI, earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. She completed an internship in General Surgery, residencies in General Surgery and Phlebology, and a fellowship, Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Kim has dedicated her education and research efforts to studying vascular surgery and phlebology as well as minimally invasive outpatient procedures to correct vein problems. She has been widely published in well-known, peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Vascular Access, Phlebology, and the Journal of Vascular Surgery. She is also active in educating her peers and presenting oral and poster presentations at major meetings and conferences.

Dr. Kim is a board-certified vascular surgeon with additional general surgery and vascular interpretation certification. She completed fellowships in Phlebology and Vascular Surgery and is a member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society, the American Venous Forum, and the Society for Vascular Surgery.

Symptoms of vein problems

When the tiny valves in your leg veins fail to circulate blood back to the heart, it can be a sign of venous disease.

The result can be:

• Skin discoloration

• Ulcers

These symptoms are often the result of venous insufficiency and are unlikely to heal on their own. This common vein condition is progressive and will likely worsen without treatment.

Vein treatment options

Vein care providers at vein treatment clinics use the most advanced minimally invasive treatments available today. CVR’s modern outpatient treatment plans are far superior to the older vein-stripping methods used in the past.

Treatments include VenaSeal, a proprietary medical adhesive that safely closes off varicose veins, and ClariVein, a two-in-one approach that uses an ablation device to inject a sclerosing agent that closes the vein with a tiny rotating wire tip, which destroys the diseased vein.
