Meet Dr. Hassan
Dr. Mohamed T. Hassan is board-certified in Internal Medicine. After graduating from Cairo University School of Medicine in Egypt, Dr. Hassan completed his residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, an academic affiliate of New York Medical CollegeDr. Hassan completed a fellowship in Venous and Lymphatic Medicine at a Center for Vein Restoration location in Maryland.
During his fellowship, Dr. Hassan received in-depth training in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of venous disease, non-invasive duplex scanning of the venous and arterial systems, as well as a variety of methods for treating venous insufficiency. Treatment procedures include; laser and radiofrequency ablations, non-thermal technologies like Clarivein, VenaSeal, Varithena, ambulatory micro-stab phlebectomies, ultrasound guided foam, and cosmetic sclerotherapy. He is a member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society and American College of Physicians.
Throughout his 14-year career, Dr. Hassan has made it his mission to educate his patients about the importance of vein care. He believes “vein diseases of the lower extremities are one of the most common and disabling conditions particularly causing pain and reducing physical function and mobility. Symptoms range from leg fatigue, soreness, swelling, and discoloration, to much more advanced complications. If left untreated, more serious conditions such as cellulitis, leg ulcers, and blood clots that can severely impact a patient's quality of life can develop.”
Unfortunately, Dr. Hassan says varicose veins are misunderstood by the general public and may be understudied by many physicians. Patients may think varicose veins are an inevitable part of aging or just a cosmetic concern, and nothing can be done to treat them. He maintains that is a misconception.
“My goal is to take the time to educate every patient about the serious nature of this disease. I want to introduce them to the latest advances in venous care, and design the most effective treatment plan to help alleviate their physical symptoms, prevent disease progression, and improve their quality of life,” Dr. Hassan says.
