Waterbury, Connecticut, is located on the Naugatuck River in the New York Metropolitan Area. Also known as the Tri-State area, Waterbury is a part of the largest urban area in the world, situated less than 80 miles northeast of New York City. Nicknamed the Brass City due to its former connection to the American brass industry, Waterbury celebrates its 350th anniversary in 2024.
Visitors to Waterbury will not want to miss the Mattatuck Museum. Located just two miles from our Waterbury vein clinic, its special exhibits and collections tell the story of the Waterbury community, past, present, and future. The museum began as a historical society in 1877 before opening its first display hall in 1912. It has been showcasing cultural pieces that highlight local artists and the history of the Naugatuck Valley ever since — its button gallery, for example, displays 10,000 miniature works of art gathered from all over the world and donated to the museum by the former Waterbury Button Company.
You can do some shopping at Brass Mill Center, less than three miles from our Waterbury vein clinic. With dozens of big-name retailers and restaurants, the mall is considered the city’s one-stop destination for fun and entertainment.
Unwind and explore the great outdoors at Mattatuck State Forest. About nine miles from our Waterbury vein clinic, the iconic space spans 4,510 acres and includes portions of Plymouth, Thomaston, Watertown, Litchfield, and Harwinton. Steeped in history, the forest reveals evidence of the region’s industrial past, including remnants of quarries, house foundations, lime kilns, charcoal mounds, and agricultural fields.
Waterbury Green, meanwhile, is nestled in the heart of downtown, less than two miles from our vein clinic. The pristine park features a network of meandering walking paths, a beautiful bronze fountain called the Welton, monuments dedicated to veterans and soldiers, the famed Waterbury clock designed by Paul Lux in 1915, and plenty of greenery.
Furthering the arts in Waterbury, the historic Palace Theater brings Broadway-quality shows to the local community. Less than two miles from our Waterbury vein clinic, the theater serves as an award-winning wedding venue and event space, as well.
Those interested in a unique experience that blends religion and entertainment are sure to enjoy a trip to Holy Land USA, a religious theme park with attractions inspired by Bible passages. Waterbury also boasts plenty of higher education options. Less than a mile from our vein clinic is Naugatuck Valley Community College, one of 17 institutions that make up Connecticut State Colleges and Universities. UConn Waterbury, meanwhile, is located less than two miles from our clinic and offers more than 115 academic programs for a diverse and vibrant student experience.

Our board-certified vascular surgeons offer a wide range of innovative treatment options for leg pain, swelling, cramping, itching, varicose veins, spider veins, restless leg syndrome, ulcers, and other symptoms of vascular disease.
When the tiny valves in your leg veins fail to circulate blood back to the heart it can be a sign of venous disease.
The result can be:
Itching
Swelling
Varicose veins
Spider veins
Feelings of heaviness
These symptoms are often the result of venous insufficiency and are unlikely to heal on their own. This common vein condition is progressive, meaning it will get worse without treatment.
Vein care providers at vein treatment clinics use the most advanced minimally invasive treatments available today. CVR’s modern outpatient treatment plans are far superior to the older vein-stripping methods used in the past.
Treatments include VenaSeal, a proprietary medical adhesive that safely closes off varicose veins, and ClariVein, a two-in-one approach that uses an ablation device to inject a sclerosing agent that closes the vein with a tiny rotating wire tip, which destroys the diseased vein.
At Center for Vein Restoration, we offer a wide variety of other treatment options, including:
Vein treatments take approximately an hour or less to complete, and patients can return to their normal routine immediately with few restrictions. No staples or stitches are required because a simple band-aid covers the tiny incisions. Our in-office treatment requires only local anesthetics and recovery and symptom relief are fast, and there is little to no scarring.
