Dr. Attaran is an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon who uses her impressive skills and experience to serve her patients suffering the pain, discomfort, and unsightly symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency. Dr. Attaran uses advanced, office-based, proven treatments to relieve these signs of chronic venous insufficiency.

She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran, and a master’s degree in Cardiovascular Research, at Kings College London, United Kingdom. Her impressive credentials include MRCS (Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons) and FRCS (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons).

Dr. Attaran’s specialties include phlebology (the diagnosis and treatment of venous diseases), chronic venous insufficiency, varicose vein and spider veins, venous ulcers, pelvic congestion syndrome, lymphedema (swelling due to the build-up of lymph fluid in the body), cardiothoracic surgery valve/aortic surgery and minimally invasive mitral valve surgery.

She explains why she chooses to practice vein care:

“After years as a cardiac surgeon, I was drawn to vein care because of the immediate positive results after treatment. Patient relief from pain and discomfort, as well as how quickly they got back to functional lives, their families, and their work, is why I fell in love with this specialty.” – Dr. Saina Attaran

We sat down with Dr. Attaran in her CVR Gilbert, Georgia vein center to learn more about her medical background, patient care philosophy, and why she applied her impressive skills in treating vein disease at Center for Vein Restoration exclusively.

Why did you choose vein care as your specialty?

“As a cardiac surgeon for over ten years, my main priority has always been focused on patient care. After being introduced to vein care, what captured my attention was the results, especially the immediate results that I saw in these patients after treating them, the relief from pain and discomfort, and I saw how immediately they went back to their functional lives, and to their families, and their work. And that is why I fell in love with this specialty.”

Why did you choose to practice vein health at CVR, specifically?

“After substantial research, I found that CVR is the leader in patient care with great results for the patients in our community. CVR is the leader in tailoring vein procedures based on every individual's needs. Another main attraction of this company is that it is a nationwide company that offers continuity of care. So, if the patient is moved from state to state or town to town, they can always be cared for with the same high standards in another CVR location.

What is your philosophy of patient care?

“My philosophy is simple. Although the procedures in phlebology are focused mainly on the lower extremity, the overall vein diagnosis cannot be overlooked because they can be manifestations of cardiac disease, vascular disease, hematological (blood disorders), or abdominal condition. Therefore, a patient should be looked at as a whole. And that is my main philosophy in patient care.

What unique skills do you possess?

“My expertise in cardiac surgery and my skilled hands are assets that have enabled me to obtain unparalleled results in vein treatment procedures. Also, I have always been commanded and praised for my communication skills, bedside manners with the patient, teamwork abilities, and leadership. All of them can offer a great service for the patient.”

How do you see your role in helping your patients?

“Diagnosing vein disease properly is important, and then offering patients the best, conservative treatment procedure. I want my patients and their referring physicians to know that I always have and will treat my patients like a member of my family. This is not a cliché. They are someone's father, mother, son, daughter, or spouse. And I will treat them the same way I want me and my family to be treated.”
