Luis Barajas, MD, RPVI, DABVLM, a native of Northwest Indiana, earned his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. He completed his residency training in family practice at Methodist Hospital in Gary/Merrillville. He is board certified in venous medicine by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. Dr. Barajas is a Clinical Professor at the Indiana University School of Medicine, educating future physicians in venous disease and the latest in evidence-based treatments.

After being in practice for almost two decades, Dr. Barajas has performed thousands of venous procedures, trained other physicians in venous disease, and ensured that patients receive cutting-edge healthcare in his vein treatment clinic.
Partnering with St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, Indiana, Dr. Barajas was instrumental in developing their chronic venous insufficiency treatment services, as well as coordinating vein care with a team of subspecialist doctors in vascular medicine.

About four miles from our Avon vein clinic is Burnett Woods Nature Preserve, the first public nature preserve in Hendricks County. Guests can enjoy picturesque scenery while walking through its 80 acres of mature woodlands sprawled with tall black walnut, oak, beech, hickory, sugar maple, and tulip poplar trees. Wildflowers bloom on the forest floor in the springtime, and the space boasts two marked loop trails over level ground, making it a particularly family-friendly destination.
Avon provides plenty of shopping opportunities for visitors ready for retail. More than 20 antique shops can be found in Hendricks County, while the city offers quick access to five malls near Indianapolis. Circle Centre Mall, just over 10 miles from our vein clinic, draws more than 15,000 daily visitors to its 786,000 square feet of retail, dining, and entertainment space.
Avon attracts golfers near and far to the Prestwick, a famed 18-hole regulation course less than seven miles from our vein clinic. Opened in 1974, the Prestwick offers public play seven days a week on its family-friendly course, which is described as one of the best in central Indiana. The Prestwick has previously hosted numerous tournaments, including the Indiana Women’s State Open, the Indiana Men’s State Open, the Indiana State Amateur, the Indianapolis Open, the Indiana Match Play Championship, and the Boy’s and Girl’s IHSAA State Championships.
Inside, the Prestwick Country Club is renowned for its top-tier 2,000-square-foot banquet facility, which can be rented for weddings, corporate events, and more. A scenic outdoor site used for ceremonies sits atop the 18th green.
Twin Bridges Golf Club in Danville is also receiving high praise from local golf enthusiasts — even earning four stars from Golfers Digest — about 11 miles from our Avon vein clinic. The scenic course was also awarded Hendricks County Best Golf Course for six of the last seven years. The course spans over 250 acres, with its 18 holes placed strategically along White Lick Creek. Twin Bridges Golf Club annually hosts the DePauw University/Dan Quayle Invitational, the Danville High School Invitational, and several other tournaments.

When the tiny valves in your leg veins fail to circulate blood back to the heart, it can be a sign of venous disease.

These symptoms are often the result of venous insufficiency and are unlikely to heal on their own. This common vein condition is progressive and will worsen without treatment.
Vascular care providers at vein treatment centers use cutting-edge minimally invasive treatments available. CVR’s modern outpatient care plans are highly superior to the vein-stripping methods used in the past.
Our vein treatments include VenaSeal, a proprietary medical adhesive that safely closes off varicose veins, and ClariVein, a two-in-one approach that uses an ablation device to inject a sclerosing solution that closes the vein with a tiny rotating wire tip and destroys the diseased vein.
