About the Center for Vein Restoration in Morristown
The Center for Vein Restoration in Morristown is one of our six locations in Northern New Jersey. If you are one of the 40 million people in the U.S. who’s living with venous insufficiency, our knowledgeable and compassionate staff will detail all the treatment options our office offers and help you choose the one that will restore your vein health.
Our Morristown branch provides the latest in spider vein and varicose vein therapies that are minimally invasive and require little to no anesthesia. Treatments such as sclerotherapy, laser ablation, radiofrequency ablation, and ambulatory phlebectomy are performed right in our offices under the supervision of a qualified physician. Once the procedure is complete, patients can resume their daily activities with very little downtime.
We recently relocated our office from Basking Ridge to 25 Lindsley Drive in Morristown. Patients can reach us from Whippany Road, and the office is also accessible from Route 287 off of the Columbia Road exit. We’re close to the Westin Governor Morris.
About Our Location in Morristown
Morristown has many historical sites, including Washington’s Headquarters Museum, a National Park with artifacts dating back to the time of our first president. The park features the Ford Mansion. Built in 1774, the mansion served as George Washington’s headquarters from 1779 to 1780. The state’s second largest museum, the Morris Museum offers a full slate of events and exhibits for children and adults.
Meet Dr. Pappas
A board certified general and vascular surgeon, Dr. Peter J. Pappas oversees all patient care at the Center for Vein Restoration in Morristown. After graduating from UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1987, Dr. Pappas served his general surgery residency at Cooper Hospital University Medical Center, a Robert Wood Johnson affiliate, in 1993. He also completed his Vascular Surgery Fellowship at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School.
After his Vascular Surgery Fellowship, Dr. Pappas served on the faculty of UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School for 15 years. During his time there, he worked in many administrative and clinical roles, rising to the rank of full professor in the Department of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery, Medical Director of the Non-invasive Vascular Laboratory, and Program Director of both the Vascular and General Surgery Residency training programs. In 2010, Dr. Pappas took a post as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Pappas has been a member or officer of numerous vascular and general surgery societies, including President of the Vascular Society of New Jersey, the American Venous Forum, and the American Venous Forum Foundation. He is also associated with the American College of Phlebology, the Society for Vascular Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and American College of Surgeons — New Jersey Chapter.
A nationally recognized expert in venous disease research, Dr. Pappas is a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery. He also has published 66 peer reviewed articles and 30 book chapters. As a result of his 23 academic years in vascular surgery, Pappas obtained a five-year NIH grant to investigate the pathophysiology of venous ulceration. He was also the first recipient of the JOBST Research Fellowship in Venous and Lymphatic Disease of the American Venous Forum Foundation.
Dr. Pappas brings his extensive knowledge and experience in treating venous insufficiency to his patients at the Center for Vein Restoration. “As an academic vascular surgeon, I have devoted my entire career to the care of patients suffering from chronic venous disorders like varicose veins, venous ulceration, lower limb swelling, and pain,” he says. “I joined the Center for Vein Restoration to focus my attention solely on the care of patients with venous disorders as well as continuing my efforts in clinical research.”
