Start your trip to the Bluegrass State with a visit to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum, located less than three miles from our Owensboro vein clinic. With an indoor theater, outdoor stage, and countless musical performances throughout the year, it’s the world's only institution dedicated to preserving the history of bluegrass music.

Meanwhile, the Owensboro Symphony adds a soothing series of sounds to the city’s vibrant music scene at RiverPark Center, located approximately two miles from our vein clinic. Founded in 1966, the symphony offers a variety of programs with a mission to educate and inspire students throughout the tri-state area. For example, its Guest on the Go program allows guest artists to instruct master classes at local schools during their trips to Owensboro.

The symphony is also dedicated to performing in community outreach programs that use the healing power of music through partnerships with local hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, group homes, senior centers, libraries, and more.

The city continues to celebrate artistic talents at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art (OMFA), situated about two miles from our vein clinic. Established in 1977, OMFA is the second-largest art museum in Kentucky. Two of its three wings are on the National Register of Historic Sites, and its permanent collection highlights more than 4,000 American, Asian, and European art pieces dating back to the 15th century.

Blocks away from OMFA, visitors can tour the Owensboro Museum of Science & History. Described as a learning center and family-friendly entertainment experience, the museum was founded in 1966 and sits in a historic 19th and early 20th-century building downtown. It’s just 300 feet from the Ohio River and boasts a range of hands-on, interactive programs designed to educate, entertain, and inspire students of all ages.

Smothers Park holds another piece of Owensboro history. Less than three miles from our vein clinic is its Lazy Dayz Playground, which was named the top playground in the world by Landscape Architect’s Network in 2015. Other amenities include a spray park, a concession stand, picnic areas, a cascading waterfall, and three signature fountains with a display show every 15 minutes.

Owensboro’s higher education options are impressive: the city is the proud home of Kentucky Wesleyan College and Brescia University.

No trip to Owensboro is complete without indulging in some traditional southern BBQ. The city has gladly hosted BBQ & Barrels — a massive festival celebrating authentic Owensboro barbecue and historic Kentucky bourbon — since 1979.

Our board-certified vascular surgeons offer a wide range of innovative treatment options for leg pain, swelling, cramping, itching, varicose veins, spider veins, restless leg syndrome, ulcers, and other symptoms of vascular disease.

Symptoms of vein problems

When the tiny valves in your leg veins fail to circulate blood back to the heart, it can be a sign of venous disease.

The result can be:

These symptoms are often the result of venous insufficiency and are unlikely to heal on their own. This common vein condition is progressive and will worsen without treatment.

Vein treatment options

Vein care providers at vein treatment clinics use the most advanced minimally invasive treatments available today. CVR’s modern outpatient treatment plans are far superior to the older vein-stripping methods used in the past.

Treatments include VenaSeal, a proprietary medical adhesive that safely closes off varicose veins, and ClariVein, a two-in-one approach that uses an ablation device to inject a sclerosing agent that closes the vein with a tiny rotating wire tip, which destroys the diseased vein.

At Center for Vein Restoration, we offer a wide variety of other treatment options, including:

Vein treatments take approximately an hour or less to complete, and patients can return to their normal routine immediately with few restrictions. No staples or stitches are required because a simple band-aid covers the tiny incisions. Our outpatient vein treatments require only local anesthetics. Recovery and symptom relief are fast, and there is little to no scarring.
