Dr. Darius Rutazaana is a fellowship-trained vein specialist and board-certified internal medicine physician with extensive experience in diagnosing and treating venous disease. With nearly seven years of experience as a hospitalist, he brings a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to vein care.
Dr. Rutazaana earned his medical degree from Makerere University in Uganda and completed his internal medicine residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He further specialized in venous and lymphatic medicine through Center for Vein Restoration's accredited fellowship program, training under Dr. Peter J. Pappas in a comprehensive range of minimally invasive vein treatments.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Rutazaana specializes in treating chronic venous insufficiency, varicose veins, spider veins, leg swelling, lymphedema, and venous ulcers. His expertise includes minimally invasive procedures designed to relieve symptoms, improve circulation, and support long-term vein health.
Drawing on his extensive background in internal medicine, Dr. Rutazaana considers each patient's overall health and individual needs when developing personalized treatment plans focused on improving comfort, mobility, and quality of life.

Families looking for entertainment can visit Six Flags Fiesta Texas, located in northwest San Antonio less than seven miles from our vein center. Built within a former limestone quarry, the amusement park features roller coasters, family rides, live entertainment, and seasonal events. During the warmer months, visitors can also enjoy the water rides and attractions at Hurricane Harbor San Antonio.
