About Dr. Lee

K. Francis Lee, MD, FACS, RVT, RPVI, earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He continued postgraduate surgical training at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, and Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia.

As a leading authority on the diagnosis and treatment of vein disease, Dr. Lee is certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, is a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), and a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). Because vascular ultrasound is critical to the success of most vein procedures, having a board-certified general surgeon who can personally perform vascular ultrasounds and interpret the results during vein treatment is a distinct advantage for Dr. Lee’s patients.

“I am excited about this opportunity to grow the practice and ensure its longevity. I founded AVCC in 2006 in response to the increasing demand for advanced treatments for venous insufficiency, varicose veins, and other vein conditions. We have helped thousands of patients since that time with great success. CVR’s expertise and resources will allow us to treat even more patients.” – Dr. K. Francis Lee

About Center for Vein Restoration

Established in 2007 by world-renowned and respected cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon Sanjiv Lakhanpal, MD, FACS, CVR exists to provide venous health care that radically improves lives. Dr. Lakhanpal envisioned providing safe, personalized, and positive treatment for a woefully underserved population suffering from venous insufficiency.

At its beginning, Dr. Lakhanpal cared for approximately 100 patients from a single clinic in the Washington, DC, area. Since then, CVR has expanded to 100+ locations (and growing), with 80+ board-certified physicians in twenty-two states impacting the lives of over 200,000 patients annually and achieving a 98 percent patient satisfaction rating.

“Our partnership with Advanced Vein Care Center and Dr. Lee marks our expansion into western Massachusetts. Dr. Lee’s depth of expertise and history of clinical excellence, and exceptional patient care are a perfect fit for the patient-centered, state-of-the-art vascular care we pride ourselves on. Alliances like this help us fulfill our commitment to caring for patients with venous disorders throughout the United States." –Sanjiv Lakhanpal, MD, FACS, and CVR CEO

About Venous Insufficiency

Venous insufficiency, the cause of significant suffering due to the sequelae of venous hypertension, most commonly arises as achy, tired, and heavy legs. This common and underdiagnosed disorder affects between 30 to 40 million Americans. Risk factors include age, weight, prolonged sitting or standing, genetics, and DVT (blood clot) history. Treatment options have evolved to an array of minimally invasive procedures in an office setting.
