The Doctors Who Serve Arizona
Jeffrey Alpern, MD, DO, is a recent addition to the medical staff at Center for Vein Restoration in Phoenix. A board certified cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon specializing in veins, Dr. Alpern partnered with Center for Vein Restoration in 2020 after he founded Vein Specialists of Arizona in 2011. During his 40-year medical career, Dr. Alpern has performed thousands of vein ablations and pioneered minimally invasive varicose vein treatments.
After receiving his medical training at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Alpern completed a residency at the Cleveland Clinic. He was the first DO in the world to perform a heart and lung transplant. He served as surgical director of heart and lung transplant at both Temple University and Hahnemann University Hospitals in Philadelphia. Currently affiliated with the Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa, Dr. Alpern is a member of the American Vein and Lymphatic Society.
Nick Morrison, MD, FACS, FACPh, has been a general surgeon in the Phoenix area for 42 years. A graduate of Creighton University Medical School, Dr. Morrison completed his medical/surgical internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix and his general surgery residency at Maricopa County Hospital, also in Phoenix. In the final year of his residency, Dr. Morrison was named Chief Surgical Resident. Dr. Morrison is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine.
He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Arizona Medical Association, and the Maricopa County Medical Society. He has been accredited as a Diplomate by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. Dr. Morrison is also a leader in phlebology research and has presented at hundreds of medical conferences and written dozens of papers that have been published in medical and scientific journals.
