Meet the Doctor Who Serves Ohio

Southgate (Detroit, MI), Oregon (Toledo), and Southfield (MI)

Zoe Deol, MD, FACS, DABVLM, received her medical degree from Michigan State University in 1994. Following a general surgery internship at the Cleveland Clinic, she focused her practice on laparoscopic bariatric surgery.

After helping her patients lose weight through surgery, Dr. Deol realized they also needed treatment for the pain and heaviness of varicose veins, which often prevented them from maintaining their weight loss with exercise. That realization moved her to transition into vascular surgery, specifically minimally invasive endovenous surgery for varicose veins. In 2016, Dr. Deol was tapped to lead Center for Vein Restoration vein clinics in Ohio and Detroit.

Among Dr. Deol’s many professional accomplishments is her service on the American Vein and Lymphatic Society’s international committee, where she learned of the latest vein procedures used around the world. She also served on the website and social media committee at the American Venous Forum to further public education about venous disease.

Deborah Cogan, MD, FACOG, FABVLM, is a vascular specialist with over twenty years of medical experience. She is double board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. She regularly ranks among the Best Doctors in the Chicagoland area.

Dr. Cogan earned her medical degree at the University of Iowa, Roy J., and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, Iowa City, Iowa. She completed her fellowship in Venous and Lymphatic Medicine at Midwest Vein Center, Downers Grove, Illinois, and her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology, at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois.

Dr. Cogan spent the first eight years of her medical career practicing in women’s health. She witnessed the connection between pregnancy and vascular disease during this time. She committed herself to helping people who suffer from the discomfort and disability of venous disorders in the lower extremities.

A devoted patient health advocate and educator, Dr. Cogan uses a “shared decision-making” model of care, working with her patients to make health care decisions.

Why Center for Vein Restoration Loves Ohio

Sitting on the shores of Lake Erie, Ohio, welcomes visitors to its many sights, including Maumee Bay State Park. The park’s many attractions include a golf course, marshes, and scenic meadows. North of Maumee State Park is the Toledo Harbor Lighthouse. More than a century old, the four-story brick lighthouse is one of seventy lighthouses along Lake Erie that helped ships navigate the channels.

Why Center for Vein Restoration

The staff at Center for Vein Restoration is dedicated to helping Ohioans improve their vein health with advanced surgical techniques to eliminate spider veins and varicose veins. In addition to many proven procedures, such as sclerotherapy and laser ablation, Center for Vein Restoration offers newer methods, including VenaSeal and Varithena. In those procedures, safe, effective solutions are injected into the bulging vein to collapse it. The blood is then rerouted to nearby healthier veins.
