Center for Vein Restoration (CVR) is proud to serve patients at our Gahanna (Columbus) vein clinic. The physicians and staff at CVR Gahanna have decades of collective experience treating symptoms of vein diseases such as varicose veins, spider veins, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and other vein conditions related to chronic venous insufficiency (vein disease).
The board-certified physicians at Center for Vein Restoration across the United States are world-renowned vein specialists, authors, lecturers, and trainers on the latest techniques for diagnosing and treating vein disease. Commitment to patient care goes beyond physician credentials, however. Our entire team works together to provide our patients with a level of comfort and understanding of their venous disease.
Located in northeast Franklin County, Gahanna is a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. Named one of the ‘Best Hometowns’ by Ohio Magazine, Gahanna offers the best of a small city as well as 750+ acres of parkland. For example, Creekside Park, the centerpiece of historic Olde Gahanna, is less than three and a half miles from our clinic and offers visitors picturesque waterfalls, paddle boat rides, fishing, and strolling along Big Walnut Creek.
More outdoor exploration awaits at the Gahanna Woods State Nature Preserve, which provides birdwatchers, hikers, and nature lovers with an unspoiled glimpse of uncommon wildflowers and rarely-seen wildlife about five miles from our vein clinic. Delight in up-close views of swamp saxifrage, yellow water-crowfoot, skunk cabbage, and wild hyacinth before heading to one of the preserve’s buttonbush swamps to marvel at Ohio’s only known population of cypress-knee sedge.
History lovers will relish the chance to step back in time and take a historical walking tour of Gahanna during a visit to the 1840s Log House and 1860s John Clark House located in the Gahanna Historical Society, about three and a half miles from our vein clinic. Other iconic destinations include the Lily Stone Bed & Breakfast, originally built as a four-bedroom home by one of Gahanna’s founding families in 1900, and the Gardens and Grounds, where guests can stroll through luscious herbs and greenery while enjoying glimpses of ducks and geese in the surrounding portion of Big Walnut Creek.
The Ohio Herb Center is located less than three and a half miles from our vein clinic and cements Gahanna’s distinction as the Herb Capital of the state. Offering insights into the worlds of gardening, aromatics, culinary creations, and health and wellness initiatives, the Ohio Herb Center boasts a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. Its one-of-a-kind classes allow guests to learn about fascinating eco-friendly subjects, including Myco-Medicinals, herbal folk remedies, oil infusions, self-care sleep rituals, homesteading, herbal hair care, and more.
Be sure to save time for some shopping at Easton Town Center in Columbus, about four miles from our Gahanna vein clinic. Its 1.7 million square feet encompass four hotels with a collective 727 rooms. When coupled with the range of big-name store and restaurant options available to its 30 million annual visitors, it’s no wonder Easton Town Center is considered one of the top urban retail centers in the country. Its Community Foundation Program consistently donates a portion of parking proceeds to charity and selects a new family-focused organization every two months.
Gahanna is ideal for a peaceful day trip or a quiet getaway, offering a unique blend of historic charm, natural beauty, and community spirit.

Deborah Cogan, MD, FACOG, FABVLM, earned her medical degree at the University of Iowa, Roy J., and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, in Iowa City, Iowa. He completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois.
After witnessing first-hand the burden of varicose vein disease for women related to pregnancy, Dr. Cogan pursued a fellowship in venous and lymphatic medicine and decided to dedicate her healthcare career to treating chronic venous insufficiency, caring for both men and women with vein disease.
Dr. Cogan is passionate about helping her patients overcome the discomfort of venous disease through diagnostic vascular ultrasound and minimally invasive, outpatient varicose vein treatment.
Our board-certified vein doctor offers a wide range of innovative treatment options for leg pain, swelling, cramping, itching, varicose veins, spider veins, restless leg syndrome, ulcers, and other symptoms of vascular disease.
Your visit starts with a thorough health history. If deemed necessary, you will undergo a venous ultrasound of the leg to evaluate the circulation in the blood vessels of the legs. If irregularities are detected, vein treatment may be recommended.
When the tiny valves in your leg veins fail to circulate blood back to the heart, the result can be leg pain, itching, swelling, cramping, varicose veins, spider veins, feelings of heaviness, skin discoloration, or ulcers that are difficult to heal. Known as venous insufficiency, the vein condition is progressive, meaning it will get worse without treatment.
If you have any one or more of these vein problems, our experienced vein specialists can help.
Thanks to medical advancements in treating venous disease, varicose and spider veins can be corrected using minimally invasive, office-based procedures. Your CVR doctor will recommend the treatment option(s) best for you based on your unique needs.
Treatments include (but are not limited to) direct injection of medicated microfoam into diseased veins called ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, a proprietary medical adhesive that closes off varicose veins called VenaSeal, and heat treatment of affected veins via laser ablation or radiofrequency ablation, to name a few.
