Center for Vein Restoration is glad to serve the residents of the Nutmeg State from seven conveniently located offices. Our branches can be found in the middle of the state within the Hartford area, the southwest part of the state in Stamford, and in Glastonbury. Each provides residents with a nearby location for all their vein health needs.

Waterbury

Dr. Brian David Baxt is a board-certified emergency physician, prolific medical teacher, lecturer, and attending physician specializing in venous disorders. He earned his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, MA, and completed his residency (including as Chief Resident) in Emergency Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT.

Norwalk

Mark Edelman, MD, DABVLM, earned his medical degree from New York University, followed by an internal medicine internship at Beth Israel Medical Center and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He then went on to do an interventional radiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. Earlier in his career, Dr. Edelman served as director of interventional radiology at Albany Memorial Hospital and North Shore Medical Center in Illinois. At Center for Vein Restoration, Dr. Edelman brings extensive experience as an in-clinic specialist in venous insufficiency and in the minimally invasive treatment of varicose veins. He is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology, with an added qualification in vascular/interventional radiology.

Stamford

Mark Edelman, MD, DABVLM, earned his medical degree from New York University, followed by an internal medicine internship at Beth Israel Medical Center and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Mount Sinai Medical Center. He then went on to do an interventional radiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical Center. Evan Harris, MD, DVIR, DABVLM, RPVI, graduated from the New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. He went on to complete his internship and radiology training at New Jersey Medical School affiliate Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Harris also completed a fellowship at the University of South Florida. He eventually became an Associate Professor at the University of South Florida and an Instructor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he served as Chairman of the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. In that role, Dr. Harris treated children with venous malformations, lessening their discomfort and disfigurement. Using the skills he mastered as a Vascular and Interventional Radiologist, he transferred his techniques to adults.

With over 25 years of medical experience, Dr. Harris obtained additional certifications as a diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Malformation and a Registered Physician in Vascular Imaging. He is also a member of the American Society of Functional Neuroradiology, the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology, the American Society of Neuroradiology, and the Society of Interventional Radiology.

Swapna Anandan, MD, FACP, DABVLM, is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician and fellowship-trained vein specialist who cares for patients with venous and lymphatic conditions. She treats chronic venous insufficiency, varicose and spider veins, leg swelling, lymphedema, venous ulcers, pelvic congestion syndrome, and lipedema using minimally invasive, evidence-based techniques that support comfort and long-term vein health.

Dr. Anandan completed her fellowship in Venous and Lymphatic Medicine at Center for Vein Restoration in Connecticut and her Internal Medicine residency at Griffin Hospital. She is a Clinical Instructor at the Yale School of Medicine and a member of the American Venous Forum and the American College of Physicians.

Her interest in vein care began during her work as a hospitalist, where she often met patients whose vein disease had been missed or misunderstood. Seeing the impact of delayed care strengthened her commitment to prompt evaluation and clear, supportive communication.

Dr. Anandan’s approach is warm, attentive, and grounded in genuine concern for her patients’ well-being. Fluent in English, Tamil, and Telugu, she strives to create a welcoming environment where people feel understood and empowered in their care.
