The beloved capital city of Maryland, Annapolis, is on Chesapeake Bay in the county of Anne Arundel. Steeped in historical and nautical charm, Annapolis is known for its vibrant blend of unique events, maritime culture, and natural beauty, making it the perfect destination for visitors of all kinds.
Annapolis was known as "Providence" when first settled by the Puritans in 1649. In 1708, a Royal Governor named Annapolis to honor Princess Anne, then heir to the British throne. A thriving shipping industry brought great wealth to early Annapolis, and the city was designed to be worthy of a queen.
For many residents and visitors, Annapolis is synonymous with the United States Naval Academy. The Naval Academy “prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps” while earning a four-year Bachelor of Science degree and commissions as ensigns in the Navy or second lieutenants in the Marine Corps.
The Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is a testament to the city’s United States Naval Academy connection, just two blocks from our Annapolis clinic. First built in 1959, it underwent $56 million worth of improvements starting in 2002. Additions include two video scoreboards, extra concession stands, end zone seating, and luxury box suites. The 34,000-seat stadium hosts the Military Bowl and has been host to the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Tournament Quarterfinal round games seven times, the eighth set for 2025.
The city is also home to the Maryland State House. Just over a mile from our Annapolis vein clinic, the Maryland State House boasts the title of the oldest state capitol still in continuous legislative use. Visitors can marvel at the building’s dazzling architecture, which helped it to earn a National Historic Landmark designation in 1960. Visitors can schedule guided group tours of the house and the Legislative Complex or take a self-guided tour using its archive information.
Another point of interest is the Banneker-Douglass Museum. About a mile from our Annapolis clinic, the museum promotes African American history and culture in Maryland through artistic exhibits, projects, programs, and special events. The Banneker-Douglass Museum is the state’s official museum of African American heritage, working to improve understanding and appreciation for the nation’s cultural diversity.
Education and nautical exploration come together at the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park, about two miles from our clinic. Learn about the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay and Annapolis’ robust nautical past. Visitors can also book a private charter, attend free lectures, and sign up for dozens of other programs and events.
Visiting during the holidays? You may be just in time for the Eastport Yacht Club Lights Parade, one of the state’s most highly anticipated gatherings.
The parade takes place less than two miles from our Annapolis vein clinic alongside the Annapolis Harbor and Spa Creek on the second Saturday in December each year. Countless vessels emerge from the harbor adorned with bright lights — an iconic holiday tradition.
Whether you're drawn to history, maritime fun, or the simple pleasures of a waterfront town, Annapolis has something to offer for every visitor.

Our board-certified vascular surgeons offer a wide range of innovative treatment options for leg pain, swelling, cramping, itching, varicose veins, spider veins, restless legs syndrome, ulcers, and other symptoms of vascular disease.
Venous disease occurs when the tiny valves in your leg veins fail to circulate blood back to the heart efficiently. This can result in:
· Varicose veins
· Spider veins
· Leg pain
· Swelling
· Cramping
· Feelings of heaviness
· Skin discoloration
· Ulcers
· Itching
These uncomfortable symptoms are often the result of venous insufficiency and are unlikely to heal on their own. This common vein condition is progressive and will worsen without treatment.
Vascular care providers at vein treatment centers use cutting-edge minimally invasive treatments available. CVR’s modern outpatient care plans are highly superior to the vein-stripping methods used in the past.
Our vein treatments include VenaSeal, a proprietary medical adhesive that safely closes off varicose veins, and ClariVein, a two-in-one approach that uses an ablation device to inject a sclerosing solution that closes the vein with a tiny rotating wire tip and destroys the diseased vein.
CVR also offers a wide variety of other treatment options, including:
• Sclerotherapy
• Radiofrequency ablation
• Endovenous laser ablation
• Ambulatory phlebectomy
Vein treatments take about an hour or less to complete, allowing patients to return to their normal routine immediately with few restrictions. No staples or stitches are needed because a simple band-aid covers the tiny incisions. Our outpatient treatments require only local anesthetics. Recovery and symptom relief are fast, with little to no scarring.
