Dr. Philip Chaipis is a skilled surgeon with 25 years of experience in General, Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. He is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Chaipis recently served eight years as Section Chief of General Surgery at the William Bryan Jennings Dorn VA Medical Center, Columbia, South Carolina. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery, at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Chaipis also served as Site Director, and Assistant Program Director for the General Surgery Residency program at USC, in Columbia SC.
After earning his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. (Rutgers Medical School), Piscataway, New Jersey. Dr. Chaipis completed his general surgery internship and residency training at Saint Francis Medical Center, Department of Surgery, Trenton, New Jersey.
Dr. Chaipis is devoted to educating his patients about vein disease and recommended treatment options so that they can make informed decisions for themselves.

He is the recipient of numerous academic awards and honors, including Outstanding Clinical Faculty Award from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, Department of Surgery, and the Lifetime Volunteer Faculty Clinical Achievement Award, South Carolina Beta Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA), Honor Medical Society.
